The on-board microprocessor provides the FCL2004 with the ability to function and initiate alarm conditions even if the Periboard/PMI fails. If another FCL2004 is added, the system will automatically address it to address 92. ![]() The FCL2004 directly connected to the PMI is always at address 91. The address is determined based on location in the cable chain from the PMI. The placement of the FCL2004 cards on the adapter plate do not determine its address. Each circuit can monitor and control up to 60 intelligent devices as well as device accessories (relay bases, audible bases, and remote lamps) in any combination. The FCL2004 supports two separate Class A and B circuits of MXL intelligent field devices. All information about the devices on the loop can be displayed on the PMI. The FCL2004 communicates all relevant device and event information, such as alarms and troubles, to the FC2025/2050, FC922/924 PMI. ![]() Figure 1 FCL2004-U1 OPERATION The FCL2004 initializes, operates, and maintains all devices residing on the loop. The select system setting on the DPU and FPI-32 must be set to MXL. All field devices connected to the FCL2004 are addressed and tested using the Device Programming Unit (DPU) or the FPI-21 Programmer/Tester. Ground fault detection of the intelligent loops is provided. The FCL2004 contains eight diagnostic LEDs: Power, Card Fail, Ground Fault, Degrade Alarm, Trouble, Loop Fault, External Communications, and Firmware Update. A FC2025/2050, FC922/924 system can support a maximum of 240 MXL intelligent field devices using up to two FCL2004 modules inside the enclosure. The application program that is loaded into the on-board microprocessor controls the FCL2004 operation. ![]() is a module that allows MXL intelligent addressable smoke detectors, manual stations, monitor devices, and control devices to interface to the Desigo FC2025/2050, Cerberus PRO FC922/924 system. 1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Model FCL2004-U1 MXL Device Interface Module INTRODUCTION The Model FCL2004 loop driver from Siemens Industry, Inc. ![]()
